海洋中食物充沛，但是竞争激烈。沧龙最主要的食物有蛇齿龙、金厨鲨、海龟、薄片龙等。金厨鲨是远古鲨鱼的一种，体长可达到8米，是兼具速度与耐力的中型掠食者。沧龙的体型在演化中逐渐变得庞大，性格愈发凶猛，科学家推测，一只成年沧龙可以对抗几只金厨鲨。在8200万年前，金厨鲨灭绝。

 

　　沧龙是中生代所有海洋生物当中最成功的掠食动物。它们在10万年的时间里将竞争对象（也就是以上它的食物）赶尽杀绝，最终成为远古海洋的霸主。
