　　沧龙的身后有一条长长的大尾巴，以前的观点认为沧龙的长尾巴像鳗鱼一样，细长而灵活，但是目前的研究已经证明沧龙的尾巴上有尾鳍，就好像将鲨鱼的尾巴倒过来一样！沧龙的身体下方有两对四个鳍状肢，鳍状肢是曾经在陆地上生活的祖先四条用于奔跑的腿演化而成的，作用则是保持身体在水中的平衡以及改变方向。
